About
I support site leaders in building the systems and leadership habits needed to lead responsively and grow high-performing teams.Â
NICE TO MEET YOU
I'm Dr. La-Trice Johnson
After nearly three decades in education—as a teacher, principal, and now executive coach—I’ve seen how overwhelming school leadership can be without the right systems in place. I stepped into leadership roles during times of chaos and transition, and I know what it takes to turn challenges into real, lasting progress.
Now, I help educators like you lead with confidence, build responsive systems, and develop the habits that create thriving schools and teams. Whether you’re a new principal, a seasoned administrator, or somewhere in between—I’ve got the tools, coaching, and insight to support your next level.
Vision
We envision education systems led by empowered, equity-driven school leaders who use responsive leadership practices, systems thinking, and intentional habits to create inclusive school cultures where educators and students thrive.
Mission
Levels and Mindset, LLC provides educational leadership coaching and school leadership development that equips principals, assistant principals, and educator-leaders to move from reactive leadership to responsive, system-driven leadership.
We support leaders by:
-
Designing proactive leadership systems and habits that strengthen decision-making
-
Defining and operationalizing equity in education leadership to uplift marginalized students and build staff capacity
-
Empowering educators through professional growth and leadership coaching so schools become sustainable, high-performing environments
Responsive Leadership
Leaders should be equipped to respond, not just react. Leadership rooted in proactive systems and intentional habits.
Defined Equity
Equity must be defined, not assumed;Â uplift marginalized students, develop staff capacity, and create inclusive school cultures.
Educator Empowerment
Invest in yourself so that you can create environments where both students and adults thrive.
My Story
I always knew I was meant to make a difference in education. I committed myself to the work—becoming a teacher, earning advanced degrees, and eventually serving as a principal. Like many educators, I believed that with dedication, experience, and the right credentials, meaningful change would naturally follow.
What leadership taught me was that impact requires more than effort—it requires intention.
As I grew into leadership, I learned how important it was to balance vision with execution, strategy with responsiveness, and high expectations with sustainability. Even in strong schools, leaders are asked to navigate complex priorities, shifting demands, and the responsibility of supporting both people and outcomes.Â
Through experience, reflection, and practice, I began refining how I led. I developed strategic habits, built responsive systems, and became more intentional about how leadership decisions were made and sustained. That process helped me lead with greater clarity, consistency, and confidence.
From that work, I developed the V.I.A. Framework—Vision. Impact. Advantage.
V.I.A. is a practical leadership framework designed to help educators clarify direction, align their systems and teams, and lead in ways that produce meaningful results while supporting leader well-being. It reflects what works in real educational settings and adapts to the unique context of each school or organization.
Today, through executive coaching, consulting, and instructional support, I partner with educators, schools, and organizations to strengthen leadership practice, build aligned teams, and create lasting impact—while keeping people at the center of the work.
